1. 比較級 (Comparative)

「AはBより～だ」と差を表現する

基本ルール

比較級 + than

～よりも…だ

ポイント

差を強調する「ずっと」

比較級の前に much を置くと「ずっと～だ」と強調できます。

This car is much faster than that one.

注意

所有代名詞 (mine, yours)

比較対象は揃える必要があります。「私の犬」と「あなた」は比べられません。

❌ My dog is bigger than you.
⭕ My dog is bigger than yours. (= your dog)

✍️ 演習問題：比較級

1. 彼は私よりずっと背が高い。(muchを使って強調)

He is taller than .

※thanの後ろは I (主格) でも me (目的格) でもOK。

2. 今日は昨日より暑いです。(hot)

Today is than yesterday.

※短母音+子音字 → 重ねる

3. この花はあの花よりも美しい。(beautiful)

This flower is beautiful than that one.

4. 私のカバンはあなたのものより重いです。

My bag is heavier than .

2. 最上級 (Superlative)

3つ以上の中で「No.1」を決める

the + 最上級

（…の中で）一番～だ

in … (場所・範囲)

単数名詞がくる

「断トツで」の強調

by far をつけると「ずば抜けて一番」という意味になります。

He is by far the best player.

1. 富士山は日本で一番高い山です。

2. 彼女は5人の中で一番上手に歌います。(well)

She sings the five.

※wellの最上級は best。数ある中から選ぶので of。

3. この辞書は全ての中で最も役に立ちます。(useful)

This dictionary is the useful of all.

4. 私のいちばんの親友 (my best friend)

※所有格(my)がつくと the はどうなる？

He is my friend. (theは不要)

3. 同等比較 (Equal Comparison)

「同じくらい～だ」と「倍数表現」

基本：同じくらい

as + 原級 + as

形容詞・副詞は「元の形」

Tom is as old as Ken.
(トムはケンと同じ年齢です)

否定：～ほど…ない

not as + 原級 + as

A < B の意味になる

This is not as big as that.
(これはあれほど大きくない)

応用：～倍の大きさ (Multipliers)

as…asの前に数字を入れると「～倍」という表現になります。

X times + as … as

2倍 twice as … as
3倍 three times as … as
半分 half as … as

1. 私はケンと同じくらい速く走れます。

I can run fast Ken.

2. この部屋はあの部屋ほど広くありません。

This room is as large as that one.

(= あの部屋のほうが広い)

3. この橋はあの橋の 2倍の長さです。

4. 彼のカバンは私の 3倍の重さです。

His bag is as heavy as mine.

「No.1」の言い換え（重要）

「富士山は一番高い」は色々な言い方ができます。

最上級

比較級 + any other

※ any other の後ろは単数名詞！
否定主語 + as…as
No other mountain in Japan is as high as Mt. Fuji.
（日本に富士山ほど高い山は他にない）
